The Business Story...

Business Problem:

The client had limited internal expertise with Siebel applications and needed to upgrade their eConsumer Goods.  While the upgrade was in process the partner would have to develop custom enhancements and integrate them into both the new and old versions of the application.

They
needed a partner who could handle the complexity of doing the upgrade while simultaneously supporting the ongoing enhancements to both the current system and the upgrade.  

The client was on a
compressed schedule and had a tight budget.  They were also concerned about security — they didn't want offshore delivery.

Why Eagle Creek:

The client was more than satisfied with our experience and expertise.  Their remaining concerns were cost, security and environmentthey had never executed a project offsite before, but they were open to secure offsite US production. 

Eagle Creek was the only Siebel resource that could upgrade completely offsite in the US. 

We demonstrated the cost benefits of bringing the entire upgrade (including enhancements to the new system) offsite to our secure US-based Enterprise Software Center.  They could substantially reduce the cost of the upgrade itself while getting the security they needed. The enhancements to the old version would be done onsite.

The overall solution suited the client’s environmental, security and budgetary needs.

Solution: 100% of the upgrade itself and enhancements to the upgrade was done offsite at our Enterprise Software Center.  Enhancements to the old release were done onsite by a separate Eagle Creek team. 

Relationship:

Eagle Creek is currently working on multiple additional Siebel projects both on and offsite for this client.


The Technology Story...

Reason for Project:

To meet their expanding business needs, the client required an upgrade with enhancements. They also had to continue with improvements on their old release until the upgrade was completed.

Eagle Creek's Approach:

This was the first offsite project that the client had attempted. We worked with the client to create custom security parameters that met their exacting needs.

We blended Siebel Systems’ standard upgrade methodology with meticulous research for the upgrade. We produced a step-by-step detailed procedural task list to closely monitor processes.

We generated discovery, high level design, and detail design documents to record the application and integration component changes that were required and executed for the upgrade.

Result:

The upgrade was completed at Eagle Creek's offsite Enterprise Software Center, on budget and ahead of schedule.
