The
Business Story...
Business Problem:
Eagle Creek was upgrading the client's
eConsumer Goods
— which was highly integrated with other enterprise applications
— offsite at our US-based Enterprise Software Center. The client
wanted separate, pre-launch testing to their specifications, at a
minimum cost.
Why Eagle Creek:
We could completely test the upgrade
— including enhancements and linkages to other enterprise
applications it would be interfacing with
—
offsite at our US-based Enterprise Software Center.
The client could save money by testing offsite.
Solution:
The testing was completed on budget,
entirely offsite, concurrent with the upgrade project.
Relationship:
Eagle
Creek is currently working on multiple
Siebel projects for the client, both on and offsite.
The Technology
Story...
Reason
for Project:
The client was upgrading their
eConsumer Goods application that was highly integrated with other
enterprise systems. They were also adding major
enhancements.
They wanted separate pre-launch testing. The objective was
to avoid production delays and costly rework and to ensure that
when the upgrade was launched it would work as users expected.
Eagle
Creek's Approach:
We tested complex workflows, repeating
components, business services, stored procedures, EIM jobs, UI
modifications, and application scripts.
Because their Siebel application was integrated with other
enterprise applications, testing the upgrade required integration
testing.
In our Enterprise Software Center we emulated the integration
interfaces between the upgrade and the client's other enterprise
applications.
We created and ran custom integration test cases. Repetitive testing was enabled through custom SQL
and test procedures that made it possible to reuse test data to
obtain identical results from test cycle to test cycle.
Result:
Due in part to our thorough testing, the upgrade was completed on budget and ahead of
schedule, and went live without issues.
