Boston Dynamics is an engineering and robotics design company founded in 1992 as a spin-off from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. “Boston Dynamics is a world leader in mobile robots, tackling some of the toughest robotics challenges. We combine the principles of dynamic control and balance with sophisticated mechanical designs, cutting-edge electronics, and next-generation software for high-performance robots equipped with perception, navigation, and intelligence.”

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and its significant impact on global workforces, Boston Dynamics wanted to capitalize on new market opportunities for its SPOT robotic products. The company determined these opportunities could only be realized through a new B2B platform that must be fully operational within a two-month window. Boston Dynamics choose Salesforce, its B2B ecommerce platform and Eagle Creek as the complete solution.

“Boston Dynamics needed a B2B storefront built and operational in less than two months…by most standards unheard of. In addition, there were unique implementation challenges. First, the site had to meet the stringent look-and-feel branding specifications for the high-profile company. Second, there were significant customizations including payments and a finance portal. Lastly, we had multiple integrations to enable transactions to be “business ready”. All of the above made this for an extremely challenging project on such a short development cycle,” said Mike Twedell, V.P. of Sales for Eagle Creek.

“Going live in 6 weeks while under extreme executive and marketing launch pressure, required the convergence of a great technology, a great customer and a great Eagle Creek team,” Twedell continued to say.
